1. Intimate Digital Storytelling & Privacy By Design
At Love Letter Studio (operating at loveletterstudio.in), your intimate life moments, private expressions of love, handwritten thoughts, photos, and music belong exclusively to you and your recipient. Modeled on modern ethical digital privacy standards, our entire platform is engineered around ephemeral data lifecycles, zero data monetization, and strict client-side confidentiality.
2. What We Collect
We believe in strict data minimization. We only collect information strictly required to generate, present, and deliver your surprise keepsake or photobooth session:
- Account & Session Details: An email address, phone number, or anonymous cryptographic session token when entering a photobooth room or creator desk. Authentication is handled securely via encrypted session tokens.
- Profile & Couple Data: Display names, partner names, anniversary / milestone dates, occasion types, and romantic notes you choose to add.
- Content You Create: Love letters, polaroid scrapbook photos, photo strips you choose to attach or save, quiz/prompt responses, and romantic milestones. Content you do not save is never kept.
- Usage & Diagnostic Records: Keepsake interaction records (for free-tier limits and delivery receipts) and technical diagnostic data — IP address (used for security, rate-limiting, and clock synchronization), browser type, and approximate device metrics. We never collect or store payment card numbers.
3. Photos, Video and Audio
We enforce strict client-side isolation for your camera and audiovisual interactions:
- Realtime Peer-to-Peer Preview: The live camera preview you and your partner see in the vintage photobooth is transmitted in realtime (peer-to-peer WebRTC where possible) and is never recorded or stored by our servers.
- Device-Composed Photostrips: Your final photostrip and booth frames are composed and rendered directly on your own device canvas. They only reach our servers if you choose to attach or save them to your love letter keepsake — then they are stored privately under unguessable alphanumeric keys.
- Ephemeral AI Generation: When you request AI assistance (such as love letter refinement or tailored romantic reasons), sentiment text prompts are processed transiently in memory for that single request and immediately discarded. They are never retained, logged, or used for machine learning training.
- Automatic EXIF Stripping: All photos uploaded to polaroid scrapbooks are automatically stripped of camera EXIF metadata and geographic GPS coordinates.
4. The 15-Day Keepsake Window & 10-Day Purge Policy
Unlike conventional social media networks that indefinitely store and index personal communications, Love Letter Studio enforces a transparent, multi-phase lifecycle for every created surprise:
Days 1 to 15 (Active)
Keepsake is Live. The recipient can unbox the wax seal, read the letter, blow out digital candles, and enjoy the soundtrack.
Days 16 to 25 (Grace)
Public Link Expired. The URL returns HTTP 410 Expired. Keepsake records remain securely retained in the backend for creator recovery upon request.
Day 25 Onward (Purged)
Permanent Deletion. Once the 10-day backend grace period concludes, private written sentiment text is permanently purged from our database.
5-Minute Photobooth Inactivity Rule: Live synchronized couple photobooth rooms that remain idle without active user interaction or poses for 5 continuous minutes are automatically expired and deactivated.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser localStorage for your active session, theme preferences (such as Rose vs. Midnight), photobooth room rejoin tokens, and pending draft keepsakes so your progress is never lost if your browser refreshes.
Where enabled, standard cookies or pixels (such as Meta Pixel or Google Analytics) may be used strictly to measure aggregated website traffic and advertising reach. We never share your intimate letter text or photos with advertising networks. You can clear local storage and cookies at any time in your browser settings.
6. Your Content & Ownership
You own 100% of everything you create on Love Letter Studio — photos, photo strips, love letters, drawings, sentiments, and milestones.
You grant us only the limited, non-exclusive license strictly required to operate the service (storing what you choose to save, relaying live video frames between you and your partner, and presenting your keepsake during its 15-day live window). We claim no other rights, and we never sell, license, or monetize your intimate memories.
7. Acceptable Use
To protect our community and respect the sacred nature of intimate devotions:
- Consent is Mandatory: Do not use Love Letter Studio to harass, harm, stalk, or record anyone without their explicit, voluntary consent.
- Lawful Content: Do not upload unlawful, abusive, non-consensual, defamatory, or infringing content.
- Platform Integrity: Do not attempt to break, reverse engineer, overload, or circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or administrative security controls.
- Room Security: Duo photobooth rooms and keepsake links are intended exclusively for you and the individuals you invite; keep room codes and private links to people you trust.
8. Availability & Disclaimer
Love Letter Studio is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work diligently to ensure maximum uptime, high-speed CDN delivery, and synchronized WebRTC stability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and features may occasionally be refined, upgraded, or retired. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts or keepsakes that violate our Acceptable Use policy.
9. Policy Changes & Updates
If this Privacy Policy changes materially, we will update this page and update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of Love Letter Studio following the posting of modifications signifies your acknowledgment and acceptance of the updated terms.
